| KAJIMA promotes overseas contracting businesses through the overseas
subsidiaries and International Division based in Tokyo.
Overseas subsidiaries, while their performances are being monitored by International Division, have relative autonomy over management of construction projects within their sphere of operation in the North America, Asia, Oceania and Europe. International Division also undertakes overseas projects directly in areas not covered by the subsidiary activities. |
| History
KAJIMA's international operations began with large scale dam and power plant construction projects in Southeast Asian countries as part of reparation effort against WWII damages. Today, International Division is actively engaged in public sector infrastructure development projects not only in Southeast Asia but also in Africa. |

| In the 1980s, international operations took a significant turn with increasing volume of orders coming in from private sector customers wanting to build new factories, office buildings and hotels in the North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. |

| In response to the growing customer base in those parts of the world, KAJIMA has established the regional subsidiary companies in the late 1980s to promote business tailored to the regional requirements; however, in projects that demand resources and know-how that only the parent company could provide, International Division of Kajima Corporation will continue to supervise directly the contracts all around the world. |
